Fly 5k 9th Inter-Club Competition, 26th December 2020

Congratulations to Chiltern Harriers who came first, followed by St Albans Striders in 2nd and Harpenden Arrows in 3rd.

Well done to all clubs who qualified today and pulled it out of the bag despite the excesses of Christmas Day.

Eight clubs qualified in total and it was good to see that the ‘Not in a running club’ category also featured in these results, proving that you don’t need to be a member of a club to compete. Although as a member of the Chiltern Harriers, I would recommend joining for the social side, encouragement and training sessions (when we can train) to improve strength, stamina, technique and speed.

Results were based on a minimum of five runners to qualify (at least one male and one female runner). Scored based on gender finish of the first female, the first male, plus 3 x the average gender score position of all other finishers. Everybody counts!

Below is the full league table and attached is a full breakdown of the results and scores:

1) Chiltern Harriers

2) St Alban’s Striders

3) Harpenden Arrows

4) Edmonton Running Club

5) Unattached

6) North Herts Road Runners

7) Fairlands Valley Spartans

8) Wheathampstead Warriors

Dear Fly 5kers, It is with a heavy heart but with very fond memories and lots of new found friends, that today we announce that Fly 5k, the weekly event as we know it, will be coming to a close at our

The hungover Fly 5k after the hosts night out! We enjoyed a beer (or two) and cracked open a really horrible old bottle of Cava, which I blame for the submission form problem! Thanks for all your pati
