Results from Event #13, 29th August 2020

Thanks very much to Paul Holgate for today's report...

Well done to all 136 runners who took part in today's Fly 5k. We had times coming in from Suffolk, Clacton/Frinton, Ambleside and Under Loughrigg and New Forest to name but a few. And while for most of us the weather was more like Autumn than Summer, for Gary Warren it was ‘very hot into a headwind ‘ in Spain.

The women’s record was beaten once again as Lesley Locks of Aldershot, Farnham & District got her Fly 5k time to sub 18 minutes with 17:57 in her 5th consecutive win.

While for the men we have a tied 1st place for the first time ever as St Albans AC’s Will Bowran and Tom Halling both recorded 16:56.

We also had new age category records in JW10 (Isabelle Head 26:22), VW40-44 (Lesley Locks) and VW65-69 (Janice Nisbet 24:06) age groups.

Maybe it's because I've been out of the running game myself now for a little while, but when Dani's post came asking for people to submit three words that summed up Fly 5k for them, the word "running"

Dear Fly 5kers, It is with a heavy heart but with very fond memories and lots of new found friends, that today we announce that Fly 5k, the weekly event as we know it, will be coming to a close at our

The hungover Fly 5k after the hosts night out! We enjoyed a beer (or two) and cracked open a really horrible old bottle of Cava, which I blame for the submission form problem! Thanks for all your pati
