Results from Event #14, 5th September 2020

Firstly thanks to our usual RD Graham Smith for sorting the times into the well organised results, this after a very early 5k & taking tons of photos at the Box End Tri!

A big well done to all 154 runners who took part in today's Fly 5k. We had times coming in from all over the UK as well as France, Bermuda and our regulars from Australia. The conditions for most of us were pretty good today, not too hot with only a slight breeze.

Yet again the women’s record fell to Lesley Locks of Aldershot, Farnham & District beating her own previous best Fly 5k time with a brilliant 17:45, now a 6th consecutive win.

For the men we have a familiar overall winner with St Albans AC’s Will Bowran running a very impressive 16:04.

We also had new age category records in JM15-17 (Euan Turner 17:31) VM70-74 (Ian Sage 25:10) VW 40-44 (Lesley Locks 17:45) VW50-54 (Emma Stepto 18:22).

Maybe it's because I've been out of the running game myself now for a little while, but when Dani's post came asking for people to submit three words that summed up Fly 5k for them, the word "running"

Dear Fly 5kers, It is with a heavy heart but with very fond memories and lots of new found friends, that today we announce that Fly 5k, the weekly event as we know it, will be coming to a close at our

The hungover Fly 5k after the hosts night out! We enjoyed a beer (or two) and cracked open a really horrible old bottle of Cava, which I blame for the submission form problem! Thanks for all your pati
