Results from Event #57, 19th June 2021

Good afternoon, well done to all 185 people that got out and walked, jogged, run, raced, hurdled, swung or zip wired a Fly 5K today. The Boss and results team were happy that this was legal practice. The heavy rain in the UK in the last week had clearly caused natural obstacles for some, whilst others chose to scramble over a variety of person made obstacles!

I for one was pleased of the cooler conditions, as were many others, and we saw 10 Flyers record Fly 5K PB's, well done to you all! We at Fly 5K would also like to extend a warm welcome to our new first timer, we hope to see you again next week! We had a total of 40 different running clubs represented today as well as the presence of a number of super heroes. A big Happy 50th Birthday to Wonder Woman!

We have some milestones today. Congratulations to the following: 50 Fly 5ks Ruth BENNETT & Katie BUNTING; 30 Fly 5ks Peter BARBER, Michael DIXON, James GIFFEN, Gill HUDNOTT & Roz JON ES; 20 Fly 5ks: Helen AJAEGBU, Timea ERDOS & Rasa JURYTE; 10 Fly 5ks Catherine TURLEY. Well done to you all and we hope to see many more.

Now to the podium results:

Women 1) Lesley LOCKS, Aldershot, Farnham & District (17:54) 2) Joanna PARKER, Unattached (19:42) 3) Hannah TURNER, Harpenden Arrows (19:57)

Men 1) Peter COLE, Edmonton Running Club (17:05) 2) Paul WHEAR, Cornwall AC (17:10) 3) Dan MORRIS, Unattached (17:21)

Age Graded 1) Claudine BENSTEAD, Okehampton RC (91.99%) 2) Paul WHEAR, Cornwall AC (87.96%) 3) Lesley LOCKS, Aldershot, Farnham & District (87.06%)

Well done to all those on the podium and the wider Fly 5K family, it would not continue without everyone's input. Big thanks as always to El President Graham Smith who undertakes a massive amount of work at the front and behind the scenes to make this possible.

Please see the attached results, again well done to everyone and I look forward to Flying with you all soon!

Maybe it's because I've been out of the running game myself now for a little while, but when Dani's post came asking for people to submit three words that summed up Fly 5k for them, the word "running"

Dear Fly 5kers, It is with a heavy heart but with very fond memories and lots of new found friends, that today we announce that Fly 5k, the weekly event as we know it, will be coming to a close at our

The hungover Fly 5k after the hosts night out! We enjoyed a beer (or two) and cracked open a really horrible old bottle of Cava, which I blame for the submission form problem! Thanks for all your pati
